Family and Child Counseling Services

Your connection with your loved one can lead to healing

The Importance of Relationship

Parents seek to help their child any way they can, and sometimes therapy is the extra support they need. Just as in individual counseling sessions, together we will work to identify attainable goals and objectives for your family member. Parent involvement is always required in some form during therapy sessions with children that I work with. The younger the child, the more I partner with the parent to support the child the best we can. I have worked with children of all ages, including in the birth-to-five age range. This is a crucial time in a child’s life where significant healing can take place through interaction with their caregiver. From parenting support to assisting your child with healing from trauma, I am confident that with your input and effort, we can work together to make it happen.. I have experience in helping children achieve relief from the following difficulties and diagnoses:

  • Symptoms of anxiety

    • difficulty with separation

  • Depression, which can sometimes present as aggression in young children

  • Grief/loss

  • Trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder

    • past abuse and neglect

  • ADHD

  • Social/relationship issues

  • Coping with stress and transitions

  • Self-esteem

This list is not inclusive of all the areas I have addressed through my work as a counselor. Each child is treated as an individual within the context of a relationship with their family. I also understand that family looks different for everyone. Some of the ways I have treated children for the above difficulties are through specific training and certifications:
